We currently have 4 Women’s teams and 4 Men’s teams that compete in BUCS. Our Women’s 1st Team plays in the BUCS Premier League on bi-annual weekend events, whilst our Men’s and lower Women’s Teams play in the regional Western Divisions on Wednesday afternoons. These matches are an amazing opportunity to mix with other universities and travel around the country with your team.

All of our teams play in the BAD local league (Avon and Bristol squash). Each team has 5 players and play once a week around the Bristol area against a variety of players of all ages. There is a match fee of £8 every time you play, which includes a post-match meal and drink. When playing at home, we have food and drinks at the Colston Arms, a great pub within 2 minutes walking distance of the uni precinct.
We drive ourselves to away BAD league matches, and drivers are rebated by the club for driving their team to an away match.

Our head coach, Rose Bamber joined us last year to coach our teams. The National Squash Champion of her age group for 2016, Rose is an incredible coach who helped our teams improve massively last season.
Our second coach, Nick Drysdale is also a key component in our club who offers coaching to our top team players.
The University has a high performance squad for their top athletes, which offers support such as strength and conditioning sessions, physiotherapy, mentoring, training camps, and free sports passes; in total worth up to £1000.
The University offers a number of Vice-Chancellor's scholarships every year for outstanding athletes competing at national and international level, valued at £1500. Special academic considerations can also be made for such students, depending on the circumstances.
A number of past Bristol students have gone to achieve significant successes in their fields, even representing Team GB and winning medals in the London & Rio Olympics, such as Lawrence Clarke, Georgie Twigg and Hannah Mills.
